Abstract

This literature review comprehensively examines the effectiveness of family-centered nursing interventions in increasing the independence of families affected by stunting. The review analyzed 30 studies focusing on intervention outcomes, cultural integration, healthcare system navigation, and sustainable health management practices across diverse healthcare settings. Findings revealed that family-centered interventions significantly improved families' capacity to manage stunting independently, with 75-85% of families showing enhanced abilities in growth monitoring and nutritional management. Cultural adaptation of interventions emerged as a crucial factor, resulting in 40-70% better engagement and compliance rates compared to standardized approaches. Healthcare system navigation capabilities showed marked improvement, with 60-65% increases in appropriate service utilization and a 45% reduction in missed appointments. The development of sustainable health practices was particularly noteworthy, with 70-85% of families maintaining improved practices post-intervention. Implementation challenges included resource limitations, cultural barriers, and system complexities, necessitating various adaptation strategies. Successful programs demonstrated effective solutions through cultural integration, flexible delivery methods, and strong community partnerships. The review identified key components of successful interventions, including comprehensive family assessment, practical skill development, and ongoing support systems. Economic analyses indicated cost-effectiveness, with significant returns through reduced healthcare utilization and improved health outcomes. However, the review also highlighted areas requiring further research, particularly in standardization of implementation frameworks, long-term outcome evaluation, and cost-effectiveness analysis across diverse settings. These findings support the effectiveness of family-centered nursing interventions in building sustainable family capabilities for stunting management while providing valuable insights for healthcare providers and policymakers in developing and implementing similar programs.
